About the Business
AmD first came into existence in 1987 when owner Geoff Everett recognised that tuning cars was going through fundamental changes with the introduction of the ECU ( engine control unit ), essentially the brain of the car. Premises were needed and a typical village garage in the idyllic rural location of Oddington, Oxfordshire, was chosen to be the new home of AMD for the next 15 years. Due to the massive increase in work AMD moved to Bicester where it grew in to the largest German car tuner in the UK.
In 2007 AmD Technik was relocated to the BBT site in Essex to keep the support and supply continuity with its huge customer base, however, the need for a second location on the opposite side of the M25 was recognised. In 2008 AmD Technik Head Office was set up in Woking to service customers from the other side of the M25.
